ATLANTA, Ga.
 - Lipscomb landed two of the top ASUN Conference Men's Basketball Postseason All-Conference accolades on Monday with Garrison Mathews & Head Coach Casey Alexander earning the league's Player of the Year and Coach of the Year distinctions. North Alabama's Jamari Blackmon secured the Freshman of the Year honors, while FGCU's Schadrac Casimir collected the Newcomer of the Year honor. North Florida's Wajid Aminu took home the Defensive Player of the Year honors.

Mathews, a three-time First Team All-Conference selection, led the conference in scoring for the third-straight season as he continued his climb up the ASUN career record books into fourth place for points. A senior guard, Mathews join Adnan Hodzic (2010) as the only Bisons player to earn Player of the Year distinction. In league games, Mathews averaged 21.3 PPG, while adding 5 RPG, 1.7 APG and making 3.5 three's per contest on 43.1 percent shooting from deep.

Alexander collects his first-ever ASUN Coach of the Year honor after guiding the Bisons to the No. 1 seed in the ASUN Championship and a share of the program's third Regular Season title and first since 2010. The Bisons enter postseason play with a 23-6 record and 14-2 mark in league action. Lipscomb is the top conference team in the NET ranking sitting at 46th.

North Alabama's Blackmon topped all league freshman in scoring for the season with 14.6 PPG, good for sixth-best overall in the ASUN. The freshman from Hoover, Ala., Blackmon was the only unanimous selection to the All-Freshmen Team as he added 2.6 APG, 1.8 SPG & 2.1 3FGs per game. He averaged 35.4 minutes per outing and started in 30 of UNA's 31 games this season.

Schadrac Casimir made an immediate impact for FGCU as he transfered in for his final season from Iona. The guard from Stamford, Conn., averaged 14.3 PPG to lead the Eagles as he made 2.4 three's per game, while dishing out a team high 72 assists this season. In league play, Casimir upped his scoring average to 17 PPG as he connected on 49.4 percent of his shots from deep to help the Eagles to the No. 4 seed in the ASUN Championship.

The second-ever Defensive Player of the Year from North Florida, Wajid Aminu joins two-time winner, Demarcus Daniels (2015,-16). Aminu led the league in blocks averaging two per game, while contributing 6.3 RPG, 28 total steals & 11.6 PPG. In league action, Aminu's numbers increased to 13.7 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 1.1 SPG & 2.4 BPG.

The 2019 ASUN Men's Basketball Championship begins on Monday, Mar. 4th at four separate quarterfinal sites with FGCU, Liberty, Lipscomb & North Florida hosting contests. The semifinals take place on Thursday, Mar. 7th, while the ASUN Final tips on Sunday, Mar. 10th at 3 PM ET on ESPN.
