2019 ASUN Conference All-Academic Team

ATLANTA, Ga. - The ASUN Conference office announced Liberty's Amelia Johnson as the ASUN Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year to highlight the seven-person All-Academic team, announced at Wednesday's championship banquet.

Liberty's Johnson graduated in the Spring 2019 Semester with a 4.0 cumulative GPA as an Interdisciplinary Studies major and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Public Health. Johnson was named to the 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team earlier this month, the lone ASUN representative on the team. This season, Johnson helped the Flames earn the No. 3 seed in the ASUN Championship with a 18-10 overall record and an 11-5 mark in league play. She leads the ASUN in total kills with 406 including a league-best 248 in conference matches. She also racked up 28 service aces, 201 digs and 45 total blocks.

The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
