FGCU's Holly Fritz Named #ASUNWSOC Scholar-Athlete of the Year
2018 ASUN Conference Women's Soccer All-Academic Team
ATLANTA, Ga. - The ASUN Conference announced FGCU's Holly Fritz as the 2018 Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Fritz highlighted the 11-person All-Academic Team on Thursday night, announced at the ASUN Women's Soccer Virtual Banquets held in Nashville, Tenn. and Hillside, N.J.
A senior from Cape Coral, Fla., Fritz is the first Eagles student-athlete to claim the Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete award since 2011. A Biology major, Fritz was perfect in the classroom with a 4.0 cumulative GPA over her studies. A transfer from Florida State who has spent the last two seasons with FGCU, Fritz was also named to the All-Conference First Team for the second year in a row after totaling 17 points off of six goals and five assists while helming a spot in the midfield for the defending conference champions.
The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. All members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
