Upstate's Lexi Shubert Voted 2017 @ASUNSoftball Scholar-Athlete of the Year
ASUN Softball All-Academic Team
LakePoint, Ga. - USC Upstate's Lexi Shubert becomes the first two-time ASUN Conference Softball Scholar-Athlete of the Year following an impressive season both on and off the diamond. The Spartan senior is joined by 10 other softball student-athletes on the All-Academic Team.
One of the unanimous selections to this year's All-Academic Team, Shubert owns a 17-4 record in the circle for the Spartans this season. She has pitched 147.0 total innings this year and holds an ERA of 1.52. Shubert has collected 153 strikeouts, while only allowing 41 walks. She went 5-1 in conference play to help the Spartans earn the ASUN regular season title.
In the classroom, Shubert has also excelled all four years since stepping onto the USC Upstate campus. She currently holds a cumulative GPA of 3.87 with her major being graphic design. She was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2015, while overall, she is making her third consecutive appearance on the All-Academic Team.
The ASUN All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
