LakePoint, Ga. - The ASUN Conference awarded the 2017 ASUN Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year award to NJIT's Cody Kramer, announced Tuesday by the conference office at the ASUN Baseball Championship banquet. Kramer is joined by 12 others on the All-Academic Team and marks the first time an NJIT student-athlete has garnered ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor.

Kramer, a senior from Northampton, Pa., started in 31 games for the Highlanders serving as NJIT's backstop for the 2017 season. Carrying a .291 batting average, Kramer totaled 32 hits, while driving in 13 runs and crossing home plate on 13 occasions. He added seven extra-base hits and 42 total bases. In the classroom, Kramer carries a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA while studying as a Biology Major.

Jacksonville led the way with four selections to the All-Academic Team including Nathan Disch, who becomes only the second baseball student-athlete in ASUN history to earn three honors in his career. NJIT followed with three honorees on the All-Academic team.
