MACON, Ga. - The Atlantic Sun Conference awarded the 2016 A-Sun Beach Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year award to Stetson's Kristin Lind, announced Wednesday by the conference office. Lind earns the honor for the second year in a row and is joined by nine other beach volleyball student-athletes on the All-Academic Team.

Lind, a junior from Tierp, Sweden, has been a big contributor to Stetson's 2016 A-Sun regular season championship and the No.1 seed in this weekends A-Sun Beach Vollyball Championship. Posted a dual match record of 21-10, including 6-2 in A-Sun contests. Played primarily at No. 2 and holds the Stetson record for dual-match victories with 62.

Carrying a 3.98 GPA in accounting, Lind posted non-conference wins over #12 LSU, #10 FIU, and #4 UCLA. Helped lead Stetson to a No.8 National Ranking and an NCAA-leading 26 win total. Was named to the 2015 All-Conference Team and All-Tournament Team. Has racked up a 30-2 record all-time against conference competition.

The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom and exemplify the A-Sun's mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
