KSU's Pritchard Claims @ASunTennis Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year
Academic All-Conference Team
MACON, Ga. – Kennesaw State's Simon Pritchard took home the Atlantic Sun Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete after earning a perfect 4.00 GPA in Economics and posting an 11-6 record at No. 1 singles.
Pritchard led KSU this year at the top position of the Owls' singles order. The sophomore went 11-6 on the year and posted an even 3-3 record in A-Sun singles play, while recording a 4.00 GPA in Economics. Pritchard shined in doubles play, going 12-5 between No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Jorge Wilton and Pritchard went 9-2 this season, including a 5-0 record at No. 3.
KSU's Jake Bouchillon, David Durham and Andrew Wendel joined Pritchard on the Academic All-Conference Team for the Owls.
FGCU's Jordi Vives, Lipscomb's Rob Mitchell, Northern Kentucky's Mate Virag and Stetson's Chester Espie claimed the other four spots on the Academic All-Conference Team for men's tennis.
Many of these individuals head to Jacksonville, Fla. this weekend for the A-Sun Men's Tennis Championship. Matches are set to begin for the men at 2:30 p.m. ET on Friday, April 17.
The Academic All-Conference Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom and exemplify the A-Sun's mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
