ETSU Falls To Duke In NCAA First Round To Conclude Season
DURHAM, N.C. - ETSU fell to fifth-ranked Duke in the first round of the NCAA Championships on Friday, dropping a 4-0 contest against the Blue Devils to conclude the season.
Duke was able to win the doubles point in short order as the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles both topped the Bucs doubles. In singles competition the Blue Devils captured the three remaining wins in dominating fashion. At the No. 1 position Duke only lost one game, at No. 4 they didn't lose a single game and at No. 6 the Bucs only managed to win two games.
The Bucs end their 2014 season with a 14-9 record, having claimed their second Atlantic Sun Championship in the last four years. Seniors Giulia Andreazza and Salma Dahbi wrapped up their ETSU careers in fine style, as Andreazza was named First Team All-Conference and Dahbi was named Second Team All-Conference. Both end their careers with two A-Sun championships.
