UNF's Budinska Named #ASunSVB Scholar-Athlete Of Year
MACON, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference honored North Florida's Anna Budinska as the 2014 Atlantic Sun Conference Sand Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year to highlight the league’s Academic All-Conference team.
Budinska, a unanimous selection, owns a 3.81 cumulative GPA majoring in Economics. This is her fourth selection to the A-Sun Academic Honor Roll. She has been named outstanding undergraduate student in North Florida's Coggin College of Business by Beta Gamma Sigma.
Also earned North Florida's International Student Academic Merit Award.
On the court Budinska posted a 17-4 dual match record as part of the Osprey's No. 2 pair. She was awarded Pair of the Year honors and is a member of the 2014 All-Conference team.
Budinska and her team looks to win their third straight A-Sun Championship this weekend in Fort Myers, Fla. as they enter the conference championship as No. 1 seed.
The A-Sun introduced the new sport-by-sport Academic All-Conference teams in the 2011-12 academic year to recognize student-athletes who embody the conference’s mission of Building Winners for Life. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or better and participated in at least half of their team’s games.
