Lipscomb's Kingma and NJIT's Hill-Glover Take Women's #ASUNXC Weekly Awards

ATLANTA, Ga. - Lipscomb's Brooke Kingma was named the ASUN Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week while NJIT's Laila Hill-Glover earned Freshman of the Week honors, it was announced Wednesday by the league office. This is the second honor of Kingma's career and the first for Hill-Glover.


Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

- Second Career Runner of the Week honor; 24th time a Lipscomb student-athlete has won the award
- Finished in the top-10 at the Greater Louisville Classic 5K, placing ninth in the field of 343 runners
- Led the team to a second-place finish out of 39 teams with a time of 17:26.3
- Beat top runners from regionally-ranked Kentucky (No. 6, Southeast Region), Mississippi State (No. 15, South Region) and Ball State (No. 15, Great Lakes Region)
- The Bisons compete again on Oct. 18, in Montevallo, Ala., at the Blazer Invite

- Placed 17th at the Highlander XC Challenge 5K in a field of 255 runners among 30 teams
- Crossed the line in 18:55.46 to help the Highlanders finished third among DI teams (4th overall)
- Third member of NJIT's team to finish in the race; finished fifth among freshmen in the 5K
- The Highlanders are in action again this Friday, Oct. 11, at the Metropolitan Championships in the Bronx
