ATLANTA, Ga. - Lipscomb's Courtney Brenner was voted the 2018 ASUN Conference Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year, highlighting the seven member All-Academic Team. Brenner becomes the fourth individual from Lipscomb to earn the academic accolade.
The 2016 Freshman of the Year boasts a 4.0 cumulative GPA as a Dietetics Major at Lipscomb. Brenner took first place at the 2018 ASUN Championship finishing the 5K in 17:42.7, just 3.4 seconds in front of second place to earn her second career All-Conference spot. Her performance also helped the Bisons capture their seventh ASUN Women's Cross Country Championship in the last eight years.
The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. Each member of the team boasts a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's meets.
