ATLANTA, Ga. - For the seventh-straight year, Lipscomb sits atop the ASUN Conference Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches Poll as the Bisons earned six of the nine first-place votes from league coaches. The Bisons' Courtney Brenner landed the title of the ASUN Preseason Women's Runner of the Year after earning three conference weekly awards last season.
Lipscomb totaled 78 points to sit ahead of Liberty, who earned 71 points and the remaining three first-place votes. The Flames finished third in last year's Big South Championship and 26th at the NCAA Southeast Regional. The Bisons finished as the runner-up of the 2017 ASUN Championship before earning 16th at the NCAA South Regional. North Florida sits third in the Preseason Coaches Poll after earning the program's second-ever ASUN Championship title last year, which broke Lipscomb's streak of six-straight titles.
Jacksonville and Kennesaw State wrapped up the top-five members of the rankings, while FGCU sits sixth in the poll ahead of North Alabama and Stetson tied for seventh and NJIT in ninth. The 2018 ASUN Conference Women's Cross Country Championship takes place on Oct. 26th in Bronx, N.Y. at Van Cortlandt Park hosted by NJIT.

For the seventh-straight year, the ASUN took to social media to poll the fans for the ASUN Preseason Runner of the Year. With a contest-high 705 votes, North Alabama's Emma Knight was tabbed the Facebook Fan-Voted Women's Preseason Runner of the Year.
