Lipscomb's Brenner Doubles Down; Collects #ASUNXC Weekly Award

LakePoint, Ga. - For the second-straight week, Lipscomb's Courtney Brenner collected the ASUN Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor after finishing first in her weekend race.

At the Stan Sims Invitational 5K, Brenner crossed the finish line in 17:25.1 for her second meet win of the season after winning the Belmont Opener last week. The sophomore from Wrightwood, Calif., bested the field 51 seconds squaring off against two ASUN teams (Kennesaw State and Lipscomb) as well as Georgia State and Jacksonville State. She improved upon her season-opening time by 15.5 seconds, while posting the fastest time in the conference this week by 18 seconds. Brenner and the Bisons head to the Commodore Invite this coming weekend in Nashville, Tenn.
