Talbert Takes Women's Runner of the Week in Season Debut

MACON, Ga. - Lipscomb's Madi Talbert received the Atlantic Sun Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, announced Wednesday by the conference office.

Talbert competed in her first meet of the season on Friday, September 26 in the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown for Lipscomb. The junior crossed the finish line with a time of 17:50.0. She finished 33rd out of 207 total runners to lead Lipscomb to a 12th-place finish in the team standings. Talbert outran multiple individuals from nationally-ranked programs in the meet, including No. 1 Michigan, No. 5 Georgetown and No. 11 Syracuse. 

Talbert and Lipscomb race in the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday, October 4 in a field that includes FGCU, Kennesaw State and Northern Kentucky from the A-Sun.
