LakePoint, Ga. - Four matches closed out the 2017 ASUN Conference Volleyball season on Saturday evening, securing the seeds for the 2017 ASUN Championship. Kennesaw State, who clinched the No. 1 seed on Friday night, secured its first-ever outright ASUN Regular Season title on Saturday by taking down FGCU 3-1. Jacksonville defeated USC Upstate in the River City, while North Florida clinched the No. 5 seed with its win over NJIT. Lipscomb closed out its regular season with a win against Stetson.

No. 1 Kennesaw State: KSU and FGCU played perhaps the best match of the night, despite what the final score read. The two squads needed extra points in two of the four sets, with KSU winning both; 30-28 in the second and 29-27 in the third. The Owls enjoyed a balanced offensive attack, led by Liesl Engelbrecht and Syndi Shelton who had 12 kills a piece. KSU was also dominant at the net, as they recorded 14 blocks, Shelton had seven herself. Kennesaw State will now focus on the ASUN Championship where they will get the winner of Lipscomb and North Florida.
No. 2 Jacksonville: The Dolphins clinched the No. 2 in the ASUN Championship by downing USC Upstate in five sets. Mallory Mattingly, yet again, led the Dolphins with 19 kills and 17 digs. Cristina Finan posted a double-double of 16 kills and a career-high 29 digs for JU. Jacksonville registered a season-high 105 team digs. The Dolphins await the winner of FGCU and USC Upstate.
No. 3 FGCU: Amanda Carroll posted one of her best games of the year in FGCU's loss to Kennesaw State. The junior knocked home a season-high 26 kills, while hitting .293. Reigning ASUN Freshman of the Week, Snowy Burnam, continued her late-season tear, posting her second straight double-double with 16 kills and 14 digs. The Eagles are set to face USC Upstate in the first round of the ASUN Championship on Thursday, November 16th after the Lipscomb vs. North Florida match.
No. 4 Lipscomb: Carlyle Nusbaum put an exclamation point on her fantastic junior campaign, as she registered 31 kills, 10 digs and hit .426 in Lipscomb's four-set win over Stetson. Nusbaum's 31 kills were the most in an ASUN match this season, as well as the most in any four-set match. The Bisons hit .341 collectively, their highest mark since the season's opening match. Lipscomb will take on North Florida in the first round of the ASUN Championship on Thursday, November 16th at 5 PM CT.
No. 5 North Florida: North Florida continued its late-season surge, by winning their fourth match in their last six. Devyn Wheeler had 12 kills and eight digs, to go along with a .346 hitting percentage. Taryn Griffey also chipped in with 10 digs. UNF will face Lipscomb in the first round of the ASUN Championship on Thursday, November 16th at 6 PM ET.
No. 6 USC Upstate: The Spartans gave Jacksonville everything they could handle by taking them to five sets on Saturday night, but fell just short. Madison Haake posted a double-double with 47 assists and 17 digs. Upstate takes on FGCU in the first round of the ASUN Championship on Thursday, November 16th after the Lipscomb vs. North Florida match.
The 2017 ASUN Volleyball Championship begins on Thursday, November 16th and will be played at Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University. All games will be streamed live on ESPN3.
