Jacksonville & FGCU's Battle for First Place Highlights @ASUNVolleyball Action

LakePoint, Ga. - The 2017 ASUN Conference Volleyball season continues this weekend, and the race for first is on. Jacksonville clings to first place by one game, and takes on second place FGCU on Friday night. Also on Friday, Stetson hosts North Florida and Kennesaw State holds its annual Griffin's Game, as they square off with USC Upstate. Lipscomb and NJIT end the night with a battle up in Nashville. 

Saturday features another full slate of games. Lipscomb plays host to Upstate. Jacksonville pays a visit to DeLand to take on Stetson. FGCU, North Florida, NJIT and Kennesaw State end the weekend's festivities with matches beginning at 7 PM.

- FGCU leads the ASUN in team hitting percentage at .278. The Eagles are hitting .332 collectively over their last four games
- Amanda Carroll took home her second ASUN Player of the Week for her play last week. She is second in the league in kills/set (4.45), kills (285) and fourths in hitting percentage (.310)
- Libero Courtney Stephens moved into the top-five in FGCU history with her 11 digs against FIU on Tuesday; she has 956 digs for her career
- The Eagles have won four of their last five against Jacksonville and is 19-5 all-time against North Florida

- Lipscomb leads the ASUN in assists per set (13.11) and points per set (17.2). They're also second in kills/set (13.91)
- The Bisons are 4-0 all-time against NJIT and hold a 19-0 mark against Upstate as Division I members
