Nusbaum, Swan and Serrano Receive @ASUNVolleyball Weekly Awards

LakePoint, Ga. - The league office announced Monday that Carlyle Nusbaum of Lipscomb, Mackenzie Swan of Jacksonville and Daniele Serrano of FGCU earned ASUN Conference Volleyball Weekly Honors.

Nusbaum picks up her third ASUN Volleyball Player of the Week Award after leading Lipscomb to a 2-1 record last week. Nusbaum recorded a match-high of 22 kills against No. 19 Western Kentucky on Tuesday, along with a team-high five blocks. The sophomore averaged 3.57 kills per set over Lipscomb's three matches and 2.57 digs per set. The hitter's 18 kills and 12 digs against USC Upstate were enough to earn her the second double-double of 2016, and she totaled seven kills against NJIT despite seeing limited time.

Swan becomes just the second player to win back-to-back Defensive Player of the Week honors since the conference introduced the award in 2013. Swan has contributed double-digit digs in all 19 of Jacksonville's matches this season, recording 15 against FGCU and a match-high of 23 against Stetson last week. The junior averaged 5.43 digs per set in the Dolphins' two contests and added three aces, two assists and a kill in Jacksonville's victory versus the Hatters on Saturday.

FGCU extended its streak of set wins to 12 after sweeping Jacksonville and North Florida this weekend, with due help from freshman Daniele Serrano. The middle's performance earned her the second ASUN Freshman of the Week Honor of her career, as she totaled 11 kills over the course of the week. Serrano hit .474 in the Eagles' two matches, while recording just two attack errors on 19 swings. The freshman put up a match-high four blocks against Jacksonville and reaped another two in FGCU's win over UNF.
