UNF's Eden Meyer Grabs Women's #ASUNTF Scholar-Athlete of the Year

All-Academic Team

LakePoint, Ga. - Four Bisons adorn the ASUN Conference Women's Outdoor Track and field All-Academic team for a second-consecutive year, with Eden Meyer of North Florida taking home Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.

UNF's Eden Meyer earns ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors after sharing the title with Jacksonville's Samantha Turner the previous season. Meyer achieved a perfect 4.00 GPA with a major in Biology, while Turner makes the team for a record-setting fourth time, while in the process of gaining her MBA. Meyer will be going to the NCAA East Preliminaries next week for her 33:43.36 10K earlier this year. She recently took gold in the ASUN Track and Field Championships for both the 5K and the 10K, and is joined by twin sister Grace as the only two Ospreys on this year's list, holding perfect 4.00 GPAs.

Lipscomb has more athletes on the 2017 All-Academic Team than any other squad in the conference, with Barbara Lee Ball, Katie Bianchini, Kacey Kemper and Bridgette Doucet all making appearances. Ball, Bianchini and Kemper were all unanimous selections with the latter pair posting 4.00 GPAs. Kemper will be attending the NCAA East Preliminaries next week for her 10:23.22 in the 3K steeple earlier this year, and also holds the fastest 1500m in the ASUN this season (4:28.29).

JU's Samantha Turner is accompanied by teammates Brittany Bowald and Emily Myslinski on the 2017 All-Academic List, with Bowald getting a unanimous decision for her 4.00 GPA in Marketing. Shannon Turner is the lone Highlander to make this year's squad with an impressive 4.00 average in Chemical Engineering. She's the first Highlander to earn Women's Outdoor Track and Field Academic honors, and finished eighth in the ASUN Championship hammer throw (34.36m).

Kennesaw State's Jordan Gray and Kidan Kidane add to the All-Academic side after helping their team to its first ever conference championship last week. As a sophomore, Gray makes her first appearance on the list and is coming off a meet record score of 5641 points in the heptathlon.

Eden Meyer, Jordan Gray and Kacey Kemper will all be attending the NCAA East Preliminaries in Lexington, Ky., next week, with 13 ASUN athletes attending in total.
