2018 #ASUNWSOC Season Preview: NJIT Highlanders

LakePoint, Ga. - With the 2018 ASUN Women's Soccer season around the corner, we scope out our nine conference squads in preparation for the 26th season of ASUN Women's Soccer beginning August 16.

NJIT begins its fourth year in the ASUN Conference under the leadership of third-year head coach Ally Nick. Under her guidance, the Highlanders posted their first winning record since 2005, going 9-8 with a 2-5 mark in conference play.

The roster shapes out with five incoming freshmen and 15 upperclassmen who look to lead with experience. Arianna Gerber looks to bounce back off a shortened season in which she still tallied nine points in ten contests. 2017 All-Freshman Team member Yasmeen Malik readies to build off her first season in which she was one of just three players to start every game. Graduate student Amelia Sapirman will hope to provide veteran leadership in the net as she nears the 100-save mark in her career.
