ATLANTA, Ga. - The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) recently honored teams and individuals for their academic achievements. Five of the seven ASUN Women's Lacrosse teams received recognition, as well as 27 student-athletes for their academic successes in 2018-19.
Four of the five teams honored were repeat honorees, while Kent State made an appearance on this year's list. Coastal Carolina, Kennesaw State, Liberty and Stetson all posted cumulative team grade-point averages (GPA) of 3.0 or higher in 2018-19.
The Chanticleers led the league with 10 individual honorees each, followed closely by the Dolphins who had nine honorees. The Hatters boasted five honorees, while the Flames had three. To be recognized on the individual honor roll a student-athlete must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
In total, the IWLCA recognized 507 individuals from 100 Division-I institutions on the Academic Honor Roll. A combined 312 Women's Lacrosse squads across all NCAA Divisions were recognized as Academic Honor Squads in 2018-19.
