Hiron & Diamond Garner Year's First @ASUNWLax Weekly Awards

LakePoint, Ga. - Jacksonville's Ashtyn Hiron and Stetson's Liza Diamond picked up the first ASUN Lacrosse Weekly Awards of the 2018 season. Hiron was an integral part of JU's victory over Michigan, while Diamond had a solid week in net for the Hatters.

After being named ASUN Preseason Player of the Year, Hiron started her season on a high note as she led the Dolphins to victory against Michigan. Hiron tallied five goals, including a three-consecutive stretch in the first half that broke the tie for good. Hiron also shot 50 percent, picked up three ground balls and won three draw controls. Hiron and Jacksonville square off with the No. 16 Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Feb. 17th

Stetson's Diamond was a standout in the Hatters' loss to Arizona State over the weekend. The sophomore goaltender picks up her first ASUN Weekly Award. Against the Sun Devils, Diamond tied a career-high with 16 saves and stopped 51 percent of the shots she faced.

- Tied a career-high with 16 saves in Stetson's loss to Arizona State on Sunday
- Stopped 51 percent of the shots she faced, and allowed only four goals in the second half
- Scooped up a team-high six ground balls against the Sun Devils
- Diamond and the Hatters will be back in action on Sunday against Notre Dame
