@ASUNWBB Action Heats Up in Second Week of Conference Play

LakePoint, Ga. - ASUN Women's Basketball heads into the second week of action with a slew games beginning Saturday. 

Two games highlight the one o'clock hour as Lipscomb travels to Jacksonville. The Bisons look to snap a seven-game losing streak to the Dolphins. USC Upstate hopes to build off a record-setting performance against NJIT, as they travel to DeLand to take on Stetson. North Florida hosts Kennesaw State at UNF Arena, with the Owls winning the last six in the series. NJIT and FGCU round out Saturday's action in Fort Myers.

Martin Luther King Day will showcase a quartet of games. Action fills Monday's schedule as there is two matinee games at 1 PM. Jacksonville hosts the Owls and NJIT travels to pay Stetson a visit. In the evening slate, USC Upstate takes on FGCU at Alico Arena, while Lipscomb looks to continue their success against North Florida, as they've won three of the last four match-ups.

- In the series, the Dolphins have defeated Lipscomb seven games in a row and nine in a row against Kennesaw State
- Kayla Gordon recorded 16 points, five rebounds and three steals in Jacksonville's victory over North Florida
- The Dolphins are the best rebounding team in the ASUN, hauling in 40.3 rebounds per game
- In addition to rebounding, Jacksonville has the best scoring defense, allowing only 61.2 PPG and holding opponents to 29% from beyond the arc

- The Owls are second in the ASUN in protecting the rim, blocking 2.8 shots per game. They registered six in the opener against Lipscomb
- Carlotta Gianolla is averaging 13.3 points over her last eight games, including 17 points last time out against Lipscomb
- Gionolla posted a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds against UNF last season on Jan. 23

- Senior Keonna Farmer leads the team at 15.1 points per game, which sits at fourth in the conference

- The Ospreys are second in the league in free-throw shooting at 70%. They were a perfect 100% in the opener against Jacksonville
