In doing so, it gives the department a school-record five teams that earned Public Recognition Awards from the NCAA this year.

    ORLANDO, Fla. – In a season packed with historic milestones, it's only fitting that Jacksonville University women's basketball battled back to take its first round Women's National Invitation Tournament matchup with the University of Central Florida into overtime, Wednesday evening at CFE Arena. The game did not lack dramatic flair as junior Jasmyn Brown drained a pass from senior Brandi Buie with 1.6 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime, where the Dolphins ultimately fell to the Knights, 65-60.

    DeLand, Fla. – For the eighth consecutive year, the Stetson women's basketball team will play in the postseason.  The Hatters (17-14) will visit South Alabama (19-12) on Thursday, March 15 at 8 p.m. ET in the opening round of the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI), it was announced late Monday night.

    FORT MYERS, Fla. - For the fifth time in seven seasons the FGCU Eagles are headed back to the NCAA Tournament. The No. 1 seed Eagles took down No. 2 seed Jacksonville on Sunday afternoon in Alico Arena 68-58. FGCU used a 13-2 run at the end of the third period to propel them to victory. China Dow, Lisa Zderadicka and Rose Julien led the way for the Eagles as they all registered double-figures of 19, 17 and 18 points respectively

    FORT MYERS, FLA. - The 2018 ASUN Women's Basketball Championship concludes on Sunday when No. 1 seed and defending champ FGCU hosts No. 2 seed Jacksonville at Alico Arena. The Jacksonville vs. FGCU matchup has beed one of the most hotly contested matchups over the past couple of years. Since 2016, FGCU holds a 5-2 mark over JU, but the seven matchups have been decided by an average of 4.14 points.

China Dow was a force for the Eagles finishing one point short of her career-high 30 points on 11-of-15 shooting including an incredible 8-of-10 from deep. It marked her second career 30-point game with the previous coming in last year's ASUN Final vs. Stetson.

    DeLand, Fla. - No. 6 North Florida advances to their first ASUN Championship Semifinal since 2013, after taking down No. 3 Stetson 63-55 in overtime on Friday night. ASUN Newcomer of the Year Keonna Farmer had a monster game, leading the way with 22 point and 11 boards. Tesh Hanson also had a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds. The Ospreys held the Hatters to 34% from the field and forced 18 turnovers.
  • Eagles Set Single-Season Three-Point Record in 300th Win as Division I Program

    FORT MYERS, Fla. - Top-seeded FGCU set a multitude of records in its 83-62 victory vs. No. 8 NJIT in the 2018 ASUN Conference Women's Basketball Championship Quarterfinals. The Eagles earned the program's 300th victory at the NCAA Division I level, all of which have come under eight-time ASUN Coach of the Year, Karl Smesko. The Eagles extended their win streak to eight with the victory as FGCU faces the No. 4 Lipscomb on Wednesday, Mar. 7th.
