AUSTIN, Texas -- Junior outfielder Brea Dickey joined a rarified group of Owls Thursday, becoming KSU's fifth all-time selection, second softball player, to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team after being named a 2019 third team selection.

The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America Division I Softball Teams feature 21 members with a 4.0 GPA and 31 members with at least a 3.90 GPA as either undergraduate or graduate student-athletes. The 12 members on the first team have an average GPA of 3.99. The All-America teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

Dickey was one of eight players chosen out of District 4, which includes players from the states of Georgia, Florida, Alabama and South Carolina, to make the final cut of 35 players in Division I.

Dickey maintained a 4.00 GPA in Integrative Studies while starting in 43 games in left field for the Owls this season. The Lawrenceville, Ga., native finished the year batting .286 with four doubles, two triples, 16 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

Dickey led the team and ranked third in the ASUN with 22 stolen bases, a mark that ranks seventh in KSU single-season history.
