Kirwa Nabs Fourth #ASUNXC Runner of the Week Honor in 2018

ATLANTA, Ga. - Liberty's Azaria Kirwa becomes the first ASUN Conference Men's Cross Country student-athlete since 2014 to win four Runner of the Week honors in a single season after his recent performance, announced Wednesday by the league office.

Competing against some of the nation's top runners, Kirwa came away with a 19th-place finish at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals 8K White Race. In a field of 232 runners, Kirwa finished behind the first-place finisher by only 16 seconds with a field consisting of nine nationally-ranked squads. Kirwa and Liberty turn their focus now to the ASUN Men's Cross Country Championship on Oct. 26th in Bronx, N.Y.

- Posted a time of 24:10; only 16 seconds behind first place, BYU's Rory Linkletter
