Lipscomb's Poyner Breaks Program Record; Earns Fourth #ASUNXC Honor

LakePoint, Ga. - Lipscomb's Jacob Poyner completed the regular season by winning his third ASUN Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor of the season and fourth of his career, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Running at the Princeton Invitational, Poyner crossed the finish line in a program record time of 24:12.1 to secure fifth place individually. The senior from Winona Lake, Ind., trailed first place by only 9.5 seconds in the 8K race. As a team, Lipscomb grabbed 10th place in a field of 205 runners. The Bisons finished ahead of four other regionally-ranked teams. Poyner and the Bisons now turn their sights to the ASUN Championship on Oct. 28th in Cartersville, Ga.
