UNF's Findel-Hawkins Named ITA Southeast Senior Player of the Year

TEMPE, Ariz. - North Florida men's tennis senior Jack Findel-Hawkins was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Southeast Region Senior Player of the Year as announced by the organization.

"Jack has had a great year and great career. It is amazing to be recognized for his work by the other coaches in our region," said head coach Mark Finnegan. "Over the four years, he has been consistent in both singles and doubles nationally-ranked player and worked really hard. He has faced a lot of adversity through injuries, but he always came back stronger and tougher. I hope he finishes out the year strong at the NCAA Championships."

Findel-Hawkins finishes up his career as an Osprey in the coming weeks at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship in Athens, Ga. He is the back-to-back ASUN Player of the Year as well as a four-time All-ASUN selection. For his career he owns 59 singles victories including 27 in the No. 1 position. In doubles play, Findel-Hawkins has made it to the NCAA tournament in three of his four years and boasts 79 wins. This season he is 28-3 overall with 15 wins coming with partner Lasse Muscheites.

He is the third ITA Regional Senior Player of the Year from UNF with the last one coming in 2003.

ITA/Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award: Christopher Eubanks - Georgia Tech
ITA Community Service Award: Kennesaw State University

The national award winners will be released on Tuesday, May 23.
