GREENWOOD, IN – Kareem Riley's combined work in the classroom and on the field, led him to be named to the Google Cloud All-District Team selected by CoSIDA.
"Kareem is a special student-athlete, said head coach Jesse Cormier. "He believes in reaching a high standard on the field and in the academic realm. He puts his time in and is always pushing himself to be excellent. I'm proud to be a part of his journey and his coach."
CoSIDA Academic All-District members are recognized as the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Nominees are divided into eight districts for the first round, which is voted on by that district's sports information directors.
Riley (Couva, Trinidad and Tobago/Presentation College San Fernando) double majors in Legal Studies and Criminal Justice and carries a 3.63 GPA. He has landed a spot on the Dean's List every semester since his arrival last fall.
In 12 matches this year, the sophomore has started in eight of them, logging in over 700 minutes between the Eagle's backline and midfield. Riley capped off the season tied for second on the team with four assists, as he took a total of 12 shots this year with four coming on goal.
Riley will be placed on the ballot for the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team which will be released later this month. He was the only men's soccer player from the ASUN to be listed.
