Lipscomb's Paynter Tabbed #ASUNMSOC Scholar-Athlete of the Year

2018 ASUN Men's Soccer All-Academic Team

The ASUN Conference awarded the 2018 ASUN Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year award to Lipscomb's Logan Paynter, announced Thursday by the conference office at the Men's Soccer Virtual Banquet. Paynter is joined by 10 other Men's Soccer student-athletes on the 2018 All-Academic Team.

Paynter becomes the second-ever ASUN Men's Soccer student-athlete to collect both the Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognition as well as the ASUN Player of the Year honor in the same season. The Bradenton, Fla. native, Paynter holds a 3.66 cumulative GPA in Corporate Marketing in his senior season with the Bisons. On top of his academic accomplishments, Paynter sits with 17 points on the season with seven goals as he helped guide Lipscomb to a share of the ASUN Men's Soccer Regular-Season title and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament. It marks his third selection to the Men's Soccer All-Academic Team.

The All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. All the members of the team boast a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better and participated in at least half of their team's games.
