DeLand, Fla. - In the first ASUN Conference Men's Soccer league match of the season, Liberty battled back from a 3-1 deficit to manage a draw at Stetson on Thursday night.

Liberty netted the first goal of the contest in the opening minutes as Kevin Mendoza's strike on an assist from Bobby Bynum and Geovanny Murillo in the sixth minute. It marked the first goal for the Flames in conference play as an ASUN member. Stetson equalized in the 41st minute as Nathan Monsanto knocked home his first goal of his career.

In the second half, the Hatters scored in the 70th and 74th minutes with William Suaut netting the second goal for Stetson. With a 3-1 advantage, Stetson looked on its way to three points in the league opener before the Flames scored twice in the final two minutes to send the match into overtime. Blake Myers and Tresor Mbuyu tallied the goals for Liberty.

In extra time, neither squad would find the net as the teams each secured one point and maintained their .500 records. Stetson stretches its unbeaten streak in conference play to seven games after posting a 4-0-2 record last year en route to the regular season championship.
