UNF's Knowles Named Semifinalist for Jack Nicklaus Award

NORMAN, Okla. -- Semifinalists for the 2019 Division I Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award presented by Barbasol have been announced and the list included North Florida senior Philip Knowles.

Nicklaus Award recipients will be announced May 30 with the honor presented by Jack Nicklaus at a ceremony during the final round of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide at Muirfield Village Golf Club. The Division I list of semifinalist includes 30 golfers.

Knowles, the ASUN Player of the Year and first-team All-ASUN performer, led the Ospreys with a 71.19 stroke average. His season included a program record 21 rounds under par and seven Top 10 finishes highlighted by his third career medalist title at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate. He matched the program's record low round of 63 this season and tops the UNF program listing for career rounds under par with 68.
