 Three individuals sit tied for the lead at the 2019 ASUN Conference Men's Golf Championship as Jacksonville's Thomas Thurloway and North Florida's pair of Philip Knowles and Jordan Batchelor each finished at two-under par with opening rounds of 70. The Ospreys hold an eight-shot lead on Liberty as UNF registered a 289, one-over par, as a team followed by Liberty (297; +9), Kennesaw State (300; +12) and Jacksonville (304; +16).

Four Ospreys are in the top-12 after the first 18 holes as Knowles & Batchelor were joined by Travis Trace (73;+1) and Cody Carroll (76; +4). Knowles, the ASUN Golfer of the Year, carded four birdies on the day, while Batchelor netted five including four on the front nine. Trace carded 15 pars on his round to sit tied for sixth, while Carroll, the ASUN Freshman of the Year, sits in a tie for 11th after tallying a birdie and his second collegiate hole-in-one.

Playing in their first ASUN Championship, Liberty's second-place opening 18 was guided by Kieran Vincent (72, E), Alexandre Fuchs (73; +1) and Gabe Lench (74; +2) as all three sit in the top-10 going into Monday's round. Vincent and Fuchs each marked down four birdies on their scorecards to lead the team as Lench added three.

Pablo Rodriguez-Tabernero Torres is one of four players under par as he sank a birdie put on 18 to finish with a one-under par, 71. He ended his round with four birdies over his final 10 holes. Wyatt Larkin and Grant Sutliff added scores of 75 & 76 as the pair sit in 10th and tied for 11th, respectively.

Thurloway's two-under performance helped the Dolphins sit in fourth after Sunday's action as the junior registered five birdies on his round. Eduardo Carrete contributed a 76 to tie for 11th place, while Sam Uhland's 78 puts him in a tie for 19th.

FGCU (308; +20), Lipscomb (310; +22), North Alabama (317; +29) and Stetson (325; +37) rounded out the team leaderboard. Lipscomb's Paul Swindell registered a one-over par 73 to tie for sixth place, while FGCU's tandem of Chase Bigham & Cole Castro sit in a tie for 11th after first rounds of 76.

The 41st edition of the ASUN Men's Golf Championship continues on Monday with the second round starting at 10:25 AM ET off the first tee at The Legends Course. The final pairing of Knowles, Vincent & Torres begin their rounds at 12:40 PM ET.
