FLORENCE, Ala. – Former University of North Alabama men's basketball standout Kendall Stafford has signed a professional basketball contract with Baskets-Vilsbiburg in Germany. The 6-4 guard/forward will head overseas later this summer with the season tipping off in late September.
Stafford's new team finished in seventh place last year in the highly competitive South-East Regionalliga Standings with a record of 13-13. Located an hour northeast of Munich, Vilsbiburg is not far from Germany's border with Austria and the Czech Republic. A two-year letterman at North Alabama, Stafford, played in 60 games, including 58 starts for the Lions. He scored 777 points and added 451 rebounds and 11 blocked shots. He also totaled nine doubles-doubles over two seasons and was a second team All-Gulf South Conference as a junior during the 2017-18 campaign.
The Corinth, Miss., native averaged 10.6 points per game as a senior as UNA transitioned to the NCAA Division I level and began play in the ASUN Conference.
Prior to UNA, Stafford played at Northeast Mississippi Community College. He averaged 10.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. During his two years, Stafford reached double figures 21 times, including a career-high 27 points against Southwest Mississippi in the MACJC State Tournament.
