Marberry finished with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, while the ASUN Player of the Year Mathews scored 15 with eight rebounds.

    NEW YORK, N.Y. – Lipscomb looks become the first team in ASUN history to advance to the NIT Finals on Tuesday when they take on No. 6 seed Wichita State out of the American Athletic Conference. The Bisons got to this point after going on the road three times and upsetting Davidson, UNC Greensboro and NC State. In the quarterfinal victory against NC State, ASUN Player of the Year Garrison Mathews went for a career-high 44 points. The Bisons and Shockers square off on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden in New York at 6 PM CT on ESPN.

    NEW YORK, N.Y. – Trailing by 11 points with eight minutes remaining in the game, Lipscomb ended the contest on a 21-3 run to advance to the National Invitation Tournament Final with a 71-64 victory against Wichita State in Madison Square Garden. Lipscomb is the first-ever ASUN Conference team to reach the NIT Final and the fourth in conference history for any sport to compete for a national title.

The Flames now have their eyes on a Sweet Sixteen appearance, as they take on No. 4 seed Virginia Tech on Sunday evening in San Jose. The Flames and and Hokies met in November for a exhibition game for hurricane relief.

    SAN JOSE, Calif. - No. 12 seed Liberty fell against No. 4 Virginia Tech in the NCAA Tournament Second Round, 67-58, as Darius McGhee led the team in scoring with 15 points. The Flames' historic season comes to an end with 29 victories, which is a new program record. The Hokies advance to their second Sweet 16 in program history.

The script on Saturday in Greensboro, North Carolina was much different. The Bisons turned a one-point deficit late in the first half into a convincing 86-69 beat down of top-seeded UNCG in second-round action of the NIT at the Greensboro Coliseum.

    SAN JOSE, Calif. - The 2019 ASUN Champions, Liberty Flames make their return to the NCAA Tournament on Friday at 7:27 PM ET on truTV against No. 5 seed Mississippi State out of the SEC. This will be the Flames fourth appearance in the NCAA Tournament, with previous appearances in 1994, 2004 and 2013. Liberty earned their berth in the NCAA Tournament after sweeping through the ASUN Championship and defeating top seed Lipscomb in the ASUN Championship Final.

Second-round games will be held on campus sites from March 21-25.
