Lipscomb Takes Control of Boulevard; Stetson Douses Green Bay

LakePoint, Ga. - Lipscomb and Stetson earned their fourth and fifth victories of the season on Monday night as the Bisons downed their nearby rivals and the Hatters concluded their road trip with a decisive win.

Lipscomb earned its first victory in the Battle of the Boulevard since Jan. 2012 as the Bisons opened the second half of a tied game on a blistering start knocking down four three pointers in the first four minutes. The Bisons led Belmont by as much as 17 with 12 minutes remaining before the Bruins made a late run to get within two points. Clutch steals from Kenny Cooper and Michael Buckland coupled with late free throws sealed the 74-66 victory for Lipscomb. Garrison Mathews led all scorers with 22 and Rob Marberry chipped in 18 to aid the Bisons' offense.

Stetson earned its league-leading third road win of the season with an 83-71 victory at Wisconsin-Green Bay as the Hatters led by as many as 28 late in the second half. BJ Gasford was dominant for Stetson with a game-high 24 points on 11-of-17 from the field. He added six assists and five rebounds, while Divine Myles registered a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds to go along with five assists. Kenny Aninye connected on three triples to finish with 13 points off the bench.
