Eagles Extend Road Win Streak to 10 with Rout of Siena

LakePoint, Ga. - FGCU improved to 2-0 as the Eagles extended their road win streak to 10 games to become the third ASUN Conference Men's Basketball to start the year with two victories. Kennesaw State and North Florida fell in road contests.

Four Eagles scored in double figures with Brandon Goodwin and Christian Terrell equaling the game-high with 16 in FGCU's 86-53 victory at Siena on Monday night. Terrell finished a perfect 7-of-7 from the field including 2-of-2 from deep, while Goodwin added four assists and two steals. Zach Johnson tallied 13 points, while Dinero Mercurius scored 14 off the bench. Ricky Doyle dominated in the post finishing with nine points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Leading by 13 at halftime, FGCU extended their lead to as much as 35 by outscoring Siena 46-26 after the break.

North Florida poured in points from deep as the Ospreys connected on 17 three pointers in an 95-85 loss to VCU. UNF trailed by only three with 90 seconds left in the contest, but a late run by the Rams sealed the outcome. JT Escobar led the Ospreys with 23 points on seven three's while Garrett Sams (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Wajid Aminu (12 points, 12 rebounds) tallied double-doubles in the loss.

Kennesaw State fell to Hofstra 75-57 in Hempstead, N.Y. as Kosta Jankovic (15) and Kyle Clarke (12) combined for 27 points. The Owls struggled from the field, shooting 22-of-74 including 2-of-15 from deep. KSU heads home for their next contest against Piedmont on Thursday.
