Stetson collected its 25th win of the season after the Hatters used a late rally to secure the 5-2 victory. With the game tied at 2-2, the Hatters struck for three runs in the bottom of the eight to help secure the season series against South Florida. Mike Spooner delivered the go-ahead RBI on a double, with the help of a wicked bounce, to score Jacob Koos. Jorge Arenas then traded places with Spooner for an RBI double, his third hit of the night, to give Stetson a two-run cushion. Brook Wilson, Stetson's dynamic closer, picked up the win as he pitched 1.1 innings of shutout relief for the Hatters. Stetson will host Lipscomb this weekend for a conference series.
North Florida picked up a 6-1 win as Tanner Murphy slugged his league-leading 10th homer of the year to lead the offense. Blake Voyles and Jay Prather added two RBI each as North Florida's offense tallied 11 hits on the night. Prather delivered in the first inning to put North Florida up 2-0 on a bases-loaded single. Murphy then added the third run on his 10th homerun, the first ASUN player to reach double digits this year. Matt Vaka started the game and pitched four innings allowing only one run. Cooper Bradford relieved him and pitched three scoreless innings to pick up the win. The Ospreys are headed on the road this weekend for a big ASUN series against Kennesaw State.
It was a back and forth battle in Tallahassee, Fla. as Jacksonville got a crucial two-run homer from Sam Armstrong in the eighth to pick up an 11-9 victory against Florida A&M. The Dolphins looked to be cruising early on as they scored four runs in the third to take a 5-1 lead. Chris Lehane had a couple of RBI hits, while Scott Dubrule and Cory Garrastazu gave Jacksonville a 9-4 lead in the seventh. Florida A&M responded though in the bottom half as they scored five runs to tie the contest up. That's when Armstrong delivered his fourth homer of the season, a two-run moonshot to give Jacksonville the lead right back. Freshman closer Chris Mauloni came on collect his 13th save of the season, a new single-season program record for the Dolphins.
