North Florida completed a weekend sweep on Sunday as the Ospreys took care of USC Upstate 3-2 in seven innings in game three of the series. Game two of the weekend set was completed on Sunday as well as North Florida took that one 13-6. North Florida took that momentum into the third game as they jumped out with two runs in the first. Mac Wilson delivered a two-RBI single to center to give North Florida the lead. Austin Drury was cruising along, but the Spartans made things interesting in the sixth. Charlie Carpenter hit a two-run bomb to left field that tied the contest at 2-2. In the bottom half, Rey Gonzalez crushed a ball to deep left field for the game-winning RBI double. Brad Depperman came on in the seventh to earn the save.
Kennesaw State secured the victory on Sunday to take the weekend series from No. 16 Stetson. The Owls produced another late comeback to win 4-3 in 10 innings after scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extras. AJ Willoughby was the first hero for the Owls as his two-run single in the ninth sent the game to extra innings and spoiled a complete game for Mitchell Senger. After Stetson took the lead again in the top of the 10th, Kennesaw State loaded the bases with only one out. Terence Norman was hit by the pitch to bring home the tying run. Forrest Bramlett then lifted a ball high into sky in right field and the Hatter outfielder lost the ball in the sun as the Owls walked it off.
NJIT avoided the sweep in Fort Myers as the Highlanders scored runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth to come from behind and win 4-3. Tommy Derer earned the win on the mound after Michael Anastasia, Julio Marcano and Justin Etts all had RBI hits late in the contest. Eric Gonzalez hit a two-run homer for FGCU that looked to put the Eagles ahead for good, before NJIT mounted the late comeback against the Eagles bullpen. Etts and Anastasia had three hits each, with Jesse Uttendorfer and Evan Pietronico also adding multi-hit efforts to lead NJIT's offense.
Jacksonville collected another ASUN series win as the Dolphins offense exploded for a season-high 18 hits to defeat Lipscomb 17-6 on Sunday to close out the weekend action. Every Dolphin starter finished the game with at least one hit as Jacksonville scored three runs in the third, five runs in the sixth and six runs in the seventh to build a comfortable lead. Lipscomb had an early 3-0 lead, but was unable to keep pace with Jacksonville's offense. Jacksonville moves to 4-2 in league play, while the Bisons are 3-3 in ASUN competition as they head on the road next.
