NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The No. 5 FGCU Eagles earned a spot in their first Atlantic Sun Baseball Championship Final as Corey Fehribach blasted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to break a 2-2 tie and propel the Green and Blue to the win.
The Eagles face No. 6 Stetson needing two victories against the Hatters to take the title. FGCU plated its first two runs in the fourth inning on a Gage Morey RBI single and Fehribach sacrifice fly to move ahead of the Ospreys 2-1.
North Florida opened the scoring in the third on a Dakota Higdon single through the right side bringing home Chris Berry. The Ospreys answered FGCU's two runs in the bottom of the fourth on Nick Karmeris' RBI single plating Corbin Olmstead following the senior's double.
Sterling Koerner collected the win for FGCU with two innings of scoreless work to close the game. Mario Leon earned the start for FGCU and went 2.1 innings without allowing a hit. He lasted 3.1 innings racking up three strikeouts and six hits allowed. Olmstead suffered the loss for UNF as his record dropped to 3-6.
