Lipscomb Draws 14 Seed In NCAA Tournament, Plays Third-Seeded Iowa State on Friday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Lipscomb, the 2025 Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) Men's Basketball Champion, faces Iowa State in the NCAA Tournament First Round on Friday, announced Sunday during the March Madness Selection Show on CBS.

The Bisons earned the ASUN's automatic qualifier after defeating North Alabama on March 9 in Nashville, Tenn. The victory against the Lions gave Lipscomb its first conference title since 2018. Under the guidance of ASUN Coach of the Year Lennie Acuff, Lipscomb went 14-4 in conference play to secure the ASUN Regular Season Championship and enter the conference tournament as the #1 seed. Led by ASUN Player of the Year Jacob Ognacevic, the Bisons went 15-3 on their home floor and have gone 11-1 overall since Feb. 1. Non-conference wins for Lipscomb included victories against Chattanooga, Duquesne, SEMO and Wofford.

The Cyclones enter the tournament with an overall record of 24-9 and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 Tournament, falling to BYU.

The 2025 edition of March Madness begins on March 18-19 with the First Four in Dayton, Ohio. This season's Final Four, which airs on CBS, takes place in San Antonio and gets started on April 5 with the season ending in the national championship game on April 7.
