National Student-Athlete Day: FGCU's Amanda Carroll & Felipe Escobar

ATLANTA, Ga. –
In celebration of the 26th annual NCAA National Student-Athlete Day, the ASUN Conference is highlighting senior student-athletes from all nine of its member institutions. These individuals have left an incredible impact on their campuses through their hardwork in competition, training, the classroom and in all aspects of collegiate athletics.

The seniors selected by FGCU were Amanda Carroll (Volleyball & Beach Volleyball) and Felipe Escobar (Men's Tennis) as they answered a few questions about their time & development in Fort Myers.

Q1: How do you feel you have most impacted your college campus during your time there?

- I have been really involved on my campus specifically in the athletic department but I feel like the most impactful thing I have done has been working everyday to be the best version of myself that I can be. Whether that be in the classroom or the court, I have tried to set an example for my teammates and fellow student athletes by doing my best, even if that isn't always perfect.

Q2: What has been your favorite moment during your time on campus?
- My favorite memories have come from working with my team. The little things are going to be the things I remember the longest. Pregame dancing in the locker room will always be a favorite for me.

Q3: What other individuals have helped you along the way in college whether it be teammates, coaches, professors or others?
- Every single one of my administrators have helped shaped me into the person that I am today. Specifically my coaches and my advisors. Without them I would not be the leader that I am. They have worked so hard to give me every opportunity and I am so grateful for their help!

Q4: How have you grown during your time on campus?
- Not only have I grown as a player, I have become a much more outgoing person during my time here at FGCU! I used to be so shy but I now I am involved in so many activities and I have really blossomed as a leader and voice within the athletic department.
